For most humans, our mornings are generally stressful before we head into work. Whether you are rushing to get yourself ready and out the door, or trying to get your children ready for school, mornings can be very uneasy and pressured. With that said, you are in charge of how your mornings go and your overall happiness.
How you wake up and start your morning, sets the tone for the entire day. It shouldn't surprise you that people that are actually happy, enjoy waking up at the crack of dawn to begin their day. They give themselves something to look forward to at all times, day and night, as well as get into a healthy routine to become their best self.
Here are seven key rituals and habits that Happy People Do Every Morning:
1.) They wake up well rested
Getting a good nights rest is key to waking up happy. Sleeping a solid 8 – 9 hours a night will not only give you the energy you need throughout your day, but also really affect the kind of mood you will be in from the second you get up, until you go to bed.
2.) They exercise
By exercising, happy individuals are able to boost their energy levels first thing in the morning. They tend to make exercising a priority and generally want to knock it out first thing in the morning. Exercising gives us a sense of accomplishment, as well as a big boost of confidence. Exercising can also allow us to look healthy, feel healthy, and also help us de-stress in times of feeling rushed or pressured.
3.) They are appreciative
Individuals that are often happy, truly appreciate what they have and don't generally worry about money or materialistic things. Most of the time individuals that are extremely happy, find the happiness in the simplest things in life such as: music, nature, food, mountains, and the ocean. By appreciating what they have, and thinking of the less fortunate, happy people allow themselves to remain in a humble mindstate at all times.
4.) They live in the present
Most people that are happy when they get up and remain happy, live fully in the present. They don't think about the past too much, or future, but really focus on their day to day lives. They may practice living in the present by: disregarding their bank account, keeping a goal list, being a minimalist, stepping outside of their comfort zone, meditating, communicating better, spending time in nature, forgetting the past, and spreading their love.
5.) They are at ease
Happy people tend to be at ease. They don't stress too much and often remain calm in pressured and tense situations. They may tell themselves when an issue arises that, "don't worry, this will pass and there are much bigger problems in the world than what I am going through".
6.) They pray and often meditate
These traits or rituals are ones that happy people generally do every morning. Praying allows them to thank God for what they have in life, as meditation allows them to reflect and train their mind, and induce consciousness. Meditation can also decrease anxiety, gain clarity, develop intuition, increase creativity, and sharpen the mind.
7.) They eat a well-balanced, breakfast
Eating a well balanced, healthy breakfast can certainly get you started on the right foot. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, as it supplies energy to get our day started and helps us acquire the energy we need to go to work, work out, and begin the day. Starting your day with a smoothie, juice, oatmeal, or any low fat, healthy meal with a high content of fruits and vegetables is always a plus.
